Voice search is now well integrated into the common life of many people. Indeed, the possibility of asking a question or naming a contact name instead of typing it on the screen simplifies the life of several mobile users. But what about the limits of this process?

Google’s connected voice assistant

In the case of Google Home, this is the company’s new connected voice assistant. It is the first of its kind to offer the language “Canadian French” and which makes your home intelligent. Google voice search allows you to do a variety of actions with different connected devices. On the other hand, an interesting point to take into account is that Google’s connected voice assistant remembers everything you say to it. This records everything you say, movies you’ve listened to, searched images and  more. All this information is available in the “My activity” section of the application. Google voice search is useful since it allows constant tracking of each of your activities across Google’s various platforms, but at the same time seems scary because of the amount of information the company is absorbing from its users.

Refine the search algorithm

But if we put aside our various opinions on Google voice search, this situation will improve Google’s search algorithm, and here’s why:

By recording the spoken words asked to the voice assistant, the company begins to understand sample questions that are asked to Google Home and adjust to this new type of search. Effectively, when a question is asked to the system it receives it as a search for keywords on the search engine, but now they will be considered as longer or long tail keywords. By dint of listening, search results will adapt to longer keywords and companies will have to modernize to this phenomenon in optimizing their keywords. In the future, Google voice search is likely to dictate a lot more search results and allow Google to be efficient in its searches, thus providing the best possible response to the user.

In short

In short, although  Google voice search is starting to grow in popularity in Canada , it is a channel for continuous improvement of the search algorithm. Some seem gullible about its absorption of data, but Google assures that this information is only used for analysis and improvement of its services. It is therefore possible to improve its positioning on Google by taking this type of innovation into account. As they say, we don’t stop progress!
